Modern techniques and organic agriculture ensure quality, tasty grapes

Grapes are cultivated in four units of Labrunier farms, located in the cities of Casa Nova (Bahia), Petrolina and Lagoa Grande (Pernambuco). In their 750 hectares, over ten different varieties are currently produced (seedless - Festival, Thompson, Crimson and Autumn Royal; seeded - Italia, Red Italia, Red Globe, Benitaka, Ribier or Alphonse Lavalle and Christmas Rose), some of them especially developed in partnership with research centers.

Location of grape farms All production stages follow strict standards of quality control and food safety. As they are harvested, grapes are selected, weighed, packaged and stored in temperature controlled environment, therefore avoiding contamination risks.

Cultivation techniques yield two crops a year for better insertion of the produce in worldwide markets. Around 70% of the 16 thousand tons produced a year are intended for retail chains in North America and Europe, such as Carrefour and Casino, and the British Tesco, Mark & Spencer, Sainsbury’s, among others.

In addition, Labrunier farms make use of organic agriculture development to become the only producer of that type of grape in commercial scale.
